2019 is the year that I’m going to be back into blogging with a passion, and where better to start than the Blind Spot Series, hosted by Sofia at Returning Videotapes? If you’ve never heard of it before, I’ll do my best to sum it up for you, but you can always visit the official page for it, too.
In essence, as part of the Blind Spot Series, bloggers pick 12 movies for the year, one for each month, that they’ve never seen before and review them on their blog. These movies are classics, cult favourites, or movies widely accepted as great movies that for whatever reason, you’ve managed to avoid.
I’ve failed in earlier years mainly because I’ve picked movies that I know are classics, but that I have very little inclination to actually watch. The end of the month would roll by, and the thought of having to watch a movie that sounded dull to me ended up making the challenge seem more like a chore. With that in mind, I’m back this year with movies that I genuinely want to see, and I’m really excited to get started!
These are my choices for the year – I’ll be hyperlinking them as we go:
JANUARY – Oldboy (2003)
FEBRUARY – Rear Window (1954)
MARCH – Saving Private Ryan (1998)
APRIL – Heat (1995)
MAY – The Matrix (1999)

JULY – American Beauty (1999)
AUGUST – Chicago (2002)
